McDonald’s increases sustainability effort
As part of its Green & Good initiative, McDonald’s stores in Arayat, Pampanga and Ligao, Albay will be solar powered. The stores will be equipped with solar panel systems connected to the local utility grid to supplement energy requirements. With the solar rooftop as the significant source of electricity, McDonald’s will be able to power their stores using clean and renewable energy. Since 2020, the chain has opened two Green & Good flagship stores in Manila and Mandaluyong City, and conducted a pilot test in its Quezon Avenue, Quezon City and Malasiqui, Pangasinan stores to explore rooftop solar power systems.
