USAPEEC President, Jim Sumner, made a brief stopover in Singapore on September 17, 2016, during his trip to participate in an international conference held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. During his visit, Mr. Sumner visited the office and cold room of Hen Tick, a long established importer of U.S. poultry. Mr. Lim Wee Kiat, General Manager of Hen Tick, briefed Mr. Sumner and the USAPEEC Singapore staff on their repacking of U.S. chicken parts for local retail customers. Mr. Sumner and the Singapore staff visited an outlet of a major supermarket chain to taste test U.S. chicken products. In the evening, Mr. Sumner met with Mr. Alvin Kwek, President, and several committee members of the Singapore Meat Traders Association, who provided the former with an overview of the Singapore poultry market.
