top: Gerhard Oscar A. Gendrano, Gold Medal Winner in Poultry Category with Margaret Say

The Philippine Culinary Cup is the Philippines’ prestigious annual culinary competition. It was keenly contested by local and foreign culinary teams who were anxious to gain international recognition and awards. A total of 1,008 participants took up the culinary challenge during August 2 to 5, 2017, coinciding with the WOFEX Show.

The Philippine Culinary Cup, located at the SMX Convention Centre, was divided into 12 categories including the Filipino Cuisine Challenge, Young Chefs Team Challenge Dream Team Challenge, Sous Vide Competition, U.S. Beef, U.S. Poultry, U.S. Pork, Local Fish or Seafood, Divella Pasta, Quick Fire Salad, Creative Breakfast Challenge and Philippines Airlines Inflight Meals Competition. USAPEEC was the platinum sponsor for the U.S. poultry section which witnessed a total of 65 contestants. Participants for the U.S. poultry section came up with the most creative and tastiest dish using U.S. duck breast. The gold, silver, and bronze medals were awarded to the winners who garnered the qualifying points for each medal. The gold medal winner with the best dish and highest number of points was Gerhard Oscar A. Gendrano from Global Academy.
