An increasing number of restaurants are spicing up traditional turkey with a variety of local flavors. Singapore diners are spoilt for choice with a plethora of spiced roast turkey on offer at local restaurants and hotels. Restaurants have responded to the changing tastes and growing demand for a greater variety of locally-flavored and spiced turkey dishes.
While roast turkey has been offered in tandoori style for ten years running, a number of restaurants offer turkey in local flavors. A popular hotel One Farrer Hotel & Spa offers Szechuan spices salt-crusted turkey. Peony Jade, a local Chinese restaurant, offers pineapple satay roasted turkey. Another five star hotel Marina Mandarin prepares roast turkey marinated with a buah keluak paste and served with chestnut and mushroom glutinous rice. Salt-baked laksa turkeys are served in Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium. Baba Chew’s, a local Peranakan restaurant, offers Assam curry turkey breast in their take-away menus. The Capella offers a rendang turkey dish where the bird is prepared in coconut milk and Asian spices.
