USAPEEC ASEAN

In celebration of the MOU signing on November 24, 2016 by Singapore Chefs Association (SCA) and Employment and Employability Institute (E2i), the SCA held three master classes for culinary students from SHATEC Institute and At-Sunrice Global Chefs Academy.

Ms. Low Yen Ling, member of Parliament and the Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Trade and Industry, was the Guest-of- Honor at the signing ceremony. The master classes were conducted on three separate occasions – the first on November 24, the second on November 29, and the third on December 14.

In the first session, well-reputed chefs Teo Yeow Siang and Alan Wong taught the students about competition cold display. In the second session, well-known Indian chef and President of the Indian Chefs and Culinary Association Singapore, Chef S.R. Bala demonstrated popular Indian dishes, the Chettinad masala chicken and chicken dum briyani dish for participants’ tasting. In the third session, TV celebrity Chef Amri Azim taught the participants the preparation of popular Malay dishes such as stuffed chicken with prawn in coconut gravy. Chef Amri also prepared stuffed rolled chicken with slated egg and belado sauce for tasting.
