Orchard Road will sparkle with lights once again during the year-end season with Christmas on a Great Street 2022, taking place from November 12, 2022 to January 2, 2023. Alongside the ever-popular Orchard Road light up, this year’s event will see the return of various attractions and activations along the iconic shopping street.
Christmas on a Great Street 2022 is the first time since the pandemic that there will be full-scale festivities along Orchard Road. Here’s a look at the various highlights of this year’s celebrations.
The Christmas Light Up 2022
The Christmas Light Up 2022 will stretch for 3.1 km from Tanglin Road to the end of Orchard Road. Along Orchard Road, 104 trees will be lit up with energy-saving LED white lights. The decorations will feature a Ferris wheel and starry night design to herald the carnival spirit of this year’s celebrations.
The Great Christmas Village
The Great Christmas Village returns to Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza with festivities set to begin on December 7, 2022. Watch out for amusement rides and activities, live music, and plenty of F&B options. Highlights include an all-white carousel, an inflatable bouncer and amusement rides. The village will also host tapestry weaving, clay modelling workshops and much more.

Pop Up Activations
Brands like Gucci Beauty and Braun Buffel will hold pop-up activations along the pedestrian walkway in front of ION Orchard to Mandarin Gallery.
Dual Facade Outdoor Projection Show
Definitely not one to miss is the multimedia 3D projection show with augmented reality features on the facade of the Mandarin Gallery, facing Ngee Ann City. Visitors will be able to view the countdown clock to Christmas and New Year’s Day. A second projection will feature on the other side of the building, facing Somerset.
AR and Music in the Air
Visitors can enjoy some AR features by using the PopAR Live App to scan the key visuals on any of the 27 glass panels located along Orchard Road, between ION Orchard to Mandarin Gallery. Popular Christmas tunes will fill the air at selected zones from Wheelock Place to Mandarin Gallery, enhancing the Christmas spirit and entertaining visitors daily.
Christmas Wonderland by the Bay
Garden by the Bay’s Christmas Wonderland is a magical place to celebrate Christmas in Singapore. It is the biggest Christmas fair. Check out the luminarie light sculptures, rides, ice-skating, carnival games, Santa’s Grotto, and other entertainment options. The human-made blizzard, massive Christmas tree, and Christmas carols add to the Christmas cheer. Stop by the Festive Market – the perfect place to buy gifts for family and friends.
