This year’s 4th of July celebrations start off with a bang at the iconic Bay East Bridge on July 1st.

4th of July may fall on a Tuesday in Singapore but that’s not stopping the American Association of Singapore (AAS) from hosting its annual Independence Day celebrations on Saturday, July 1st.

This year’s event will be held at the iconic Bay East Bridge in Gardens by the Bay, complete with built-in sun and rain protection. For gorgeous views of the Bay, visitors can step into the grassy field next door.

What else is in store? Lots of live Dixieland music, carnival games, bouncy castles, arts and craft, as well as a watermelon eating contest and pie bake-off. Get into the spirit! Dress your whole family in red, white and blue American flag colors and who knows? You might just make it to the Best Dressed list and win a couple of prizes.

Entrance is free but you’ll need to buy tickets to participate in the games or order food and beverages.  Traditional American fare, including American, Mexican, and BBQ foods, as well as kid-friendly delights like popcorn, candy floss, and snow cones will be served. You can also purchase beer and other drinks on-site.

So what do you say? It’s time to rally the troops and head on down to the Bay. Everyone is welcome to join, including those who simply want to come and have a good time!

Mark your calendars now and save the date for the best American summer party of the year!

Here’s wishing all Americans a Happy Independence Day!
