The U.S. Poultry Networking Dinner held at At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy on July 18, brought together some 60 representatives from various sectors of the F&B industry including key figures such as Ira Sugit, USDA Agricultural Specialist; Alice Kwek, USDA Marketing Specialist; Mr. Alvin Kwek, President of the Meat Traders Association Singapore; and Mr. Thomas Chia, Senior Manager of the Association of Catering Professionals Singapore.
Over the course of nearly three hours, guests networked over a delicious buffet spread showcasing the high quality and versatility of U.S. poultry and egg products in dishes including:
- Roasted U.S. Turkey with Herbs Potatoes
- Roasted U.S Duck glazed with Worcestershire Sauce and Orange Peel Marmalade
- Orange Peel Marmalade Tart made using U.S. powdered eggs
- Coffee Grind Karaage U.S. Chicken with Mala Mayonnaise
- Butter U.S. Chicken with Upcycled Eggshell Salt
The networking dinner was also used to promote Sizzle Showdown, a national culinary championship on July 20 where young aspiring chefs from various culinary institutions across Singapore compete in crafting the best U.S. chicken or U.S. duck dish which would subsequently be sold in restaurants nationwide to consumers, the first championship of its kind in Singapore that links U.S. producers, local importers, merchants, and consumers together
