Celebrity Chef Eric Teo gets the big thumbs up from participants at the USA Poultry Culinary Showcase.

How often do you get the opportunity to cook with a professional chef?  Sixteen lucky participants from Fernvale Community Club (FCC) got to do just that with media personality and celebrity Chef Eric Teo. A renowned figure in the culinary world, Chef Eric Teo is a beloved TV personality and former President of the Singapore Chefs Association who brings more than 3 decades of culinary experience to the food & beverage industry in Singapore.

The interactive culinary demonstration featuring USA chicken was held at the FCC culinary studio on May 28, 2023.  Chef Teo kicked off the event with an introduction to USA poultry, highlighting the many benefits such as high protein quality, nutrition content, safety, and versatility.  He took participants through a step-by-step process on how to prepare a restaurant-worthy “USA Chicken Cooked in Lemongrass Turmeric Spice” that was really flavorful and super delicious! Participants then returned to their cooking stations to replicate the dish on their own under the watchful eyes of Chef Teo.

Clearly, the not-so-secret ingredient to the event’s success was the community engagement between the participants themselves and Chef Eric Teo who fielded questions, from healthy cooking to preparing the rempah (spice paste), plating, and kitchen hygiene. Participants walked away with goodie bags filled with USAPEEC branded aprons, hats, notebooks,  poultry information leaflets, grocery vouchers and a cookbook of USA poultry recipes, personally autographed by Chef Teo.

Organized by USAPEEC, with funding from the United Soybean Board, the culinary showcase, with the theme “I Love USA Chicken,” served as the official launch of the USA Poultry Digital Marketing Campaign 2023, which runs from May to August.
