Forty-four consumers attended the USA Poultry Culinary Showcase held at the De Dietrich Showroom & Culinary Studio on August 6. This event follows a six-month poultry marketing campaign that pitted six home chefs against each other in an online competition utilizing U.S. chicken, duck and turkey. The top three chefs, as voted by consumers via Instagram, presented their winning dishes at the live culinary showcase where they shared cooking tips, nutritional benefits of cooking with U.S. poultry, and how easily these ingredients could be incorporated into the local cuisine. Attendees were thrilled to sample the food, giving the thumbs up to the featured dishes, namely Cranberry Turkey Biryani, Duck Belado with Cilantro Lime Rice, and Kradod Gai (Chicken) Skewers. They each took away a recipe booklet of all six recipes. This activity, aimed at promoting USA poultry among consumers, was funded by the United Soybean Board. The recipes are available here.
