Of the five senses commonly associated with food, taste is paramount. Plating food in an appealing way used to be the hallmark of fine dining, but in the age Instagram, it has become a prerequisite. Smell, presentation, and ambience all have a role to play in the modern dining experience. Chefs are integrating sight, sound, touch and smell, lovingly and thoughtfully, into each meal. What was once a simple pleasure of eating is now a highly-curated, innovative and sometimes tech-infused experience that takes dining to a new level of enjoyment.
